Lee Jaffe

Lee Jaffe (born 1950 ) is an American artist.

He sees himself as a multimedia artist who does fine arts and photography as well as a filmmaker . In addition, he has been producing mostly reggae music for many years with his partners Joe Higgs (1940–1999) and Barrington Levy (* 1964) . In 1973, as a young artist in New York, Jaffe met Bob Marley . This meeting was the beginning of a close friendship. Marley was a superstar in Jamaica but was relatively unknown in the rest of the world. Jaffe managed the reggae star and organized his first US tour. He played as a guest musician (harmonica) in Marley's group " The Wailers " and gave numerous concerts during the "Natty Dread" tour. During this time he photographed the star and its surroundings; the photo book "One Love" was created from the photo documents.

Jaffe has had numerous successful art exhibitions, including solo exhibitions at the Moderna Museet (Stockholm), the Irish Museum of Modern Art (Dublin) and the Icon Gallery (Birmingham). He lives and works in Los Angeles , Calif.
