Tom Hiddleston
Thomas "Tom" William Hiddleston (born February 9, 1981 in Westminster , London ) is a British actor .
life and career
His father James Norman Hiddleston is the managing director of a pharmaceutical company, his mother Diana Patricia Hiddleston was a stage manager and art administrator. He grew up the middle of three children at Wimbledon and Oxford . His older sister Sarah is a journalist in India while the younger sister Emma is also an actress. He first attended the Dragon School in Oxford and then Eton College . When he was 13 years old, the parents divorced. After graduating from Eton, Hiddleston began studying Classical Literature at Pembroke College at Cambridge University .
From 2001 he took on minor roles in television films. After completing his training at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London in 2005, he got his first major supporting role in Joanna Hogg's film Unrelated, in which his sister Emma can also be seen. He also took on roles in plays, such as that of Cassio in the Shakespeare play Othello in London's Donmar Warehouse at the side of Chiwetel Ejiofor and Ewan McGregor , for which he received consistently outstanding reviews.
Hiddleston became known to a larger audience in the role of the Norse god Loki in the comic book version Thor (2011) alongside Chris Hemsworth and Anthony Hopkins . He also played Loki in the 2012 film adaptation of the superhero comic The Avengers under the title Marvel's The Avengers and the 2013 to 2019 films Thor - The Dark Kingdom , Thor: Day of Decision , Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame . In 2011 Hiddleston appeared in Woody Allen's comedy film Midnight in Paris and Steven Spielberg's war film Companions . In 2012 he took over the roles of Prince Hal in from BBC -produced TV adaptations of Shakespeare's Henry IV and the title role in Henry V . In the on le John Carré spy novel The Night Manager -based television series The Night Manager he played the spy Jonathan Pine . For this role he received the Golden Globe Award in 2017 . The film company Disney also announced that it would publish its own series with Tom Hiddleston in the role of Loki on Disney's future streaming service Disney + in spring 2021 .
In 2016, Hiddleston was invited to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences . In German it is mostly dubbed by Peter Lontzek .
