Rory Kinnear (born February 17, 1978 in London , England ) is a British actor .

Life

Rory Kinnear was born to the actors Roy Kinnear and Carmel Cryan. He has two siblings. His father died when Rory was ten years old. He studied acting at the London Academy ousic and dramatic art and has appeared in various television productions as an actor since 2002. He is also active as a theater actor . Since 2008 in the film James Bond 007: Quantum of Solace , he has played the role of M's assistant Bill Tanner , making him known to a wider international audience. This character was previously played by Michael Kitchen in James Bond 007 - The world is not enough (1999). Kinnear was also involved as Tanner's voice actor in the computer game 007 Legends from 2012. Since 2014 he has appeared in a recurring role on the series Penny Dreadful .

Kinnear was named Best Supporting Actor at the 2012 British Independent Film Awards for his role in Broken .
