The Dr. Dr. Wagner Gesundheit & Pflege GmbH was founded in 1987 by Stephan Wagner and operated health and spa hotels, rehabilitation clinics, nursing homes and a facility for everyday care in Austria. A total of around 1200 people were employed across the company. The Dr. Dr. Wagner Group was taken over by the SeneCura Group on June 1, 2017 .

Treatment priorities
Focused on the treatment of diseases of the supporting and musculoskeletal system , metabolic diseases , vascular diseases , diseases of the lungs and respiratory tract , and skin diseases . To Dr. Dr. Wagner group owned nine health and spa hotels, five rehab clinics, five nursing homes and a facility for everyday care (according to own information).

Six nursing homes (two with a day care center) and a facility for everyday care of people with disabilities belonged to the group. In the Wagner nursing homes in Carinthia and Styria, the Scandinavian “house community concept” was used. It is based on a communal, family-style form of living for older people.
