Thomas Turgoose

Thomas Aiden Turgoose (born February 11, 1992 in Grimsby , North East Lincolnshire , England ) is a British actor.

Life

Thomas Turgoose had his first film appearance, and also his first leading role, in Shane Meadows ' film This Is England . In it he embodies the twelve-year-old Shaun , who, after his father was killed in the Falklands War , finds support and security in a group of young skinheads , until Combo (played by Stephen Graham ) tears the group apart with his racist ideas and the story escalates. For this portrayal, Turgoose won the 2006 British Independent Film Award for "Best Newcomer". Shortly after filming This Is England closed on December 30, 2005, his mother Sharon died of cancer. The film is dedicated to her.

Thomas Turgoose plays the role of young Dizzy in the BBC production The Innocence Project . However, the series was canceled after a short time. Turgoose can be seen in six of the eight episodes.

In 2008 he was again in front of the camera for Shane Meadows. The film Somers Town , a drama shot in black and white about an unusual friendship between two boys, was first presented at the 2008 Berlinale .

Thomas Turgoose can also be seen in the British thriller Eden Lake .

In spring 2012, he starred in the music video for Maxïmo Park's song Hips and Lips .
