EADS 3Sigma

EADS 3Sigma is a manufacturer of unmanned aerial vehicles . The company's administrative headquarters are in Athens and the production facilities are in Chania , Crete .

history

The 3Sigma company was founded in 1987 and manufactured single and twin-engined unmanned aircraft. In 1999, 50% of the company was taken over by Atlas Elektronik , which in turn was taken over by EADS in 2002 . Since then, the company has been trading as EADS 3Sigma . The founding Sarris family continued to hold a minority stake, which was sold to EADS in 2010.

In November 2012, EADS 3Sigma announced the temporary cessation of production., This was preceded by the closure of similar areas of the group in Germany and other countries. The Greek armed forces were not ready to support the company by awarding new contracts.
