Mike Eley

Michael "Mike" Eley (* 1960 in Romford , Essex ) is a British cameraman and documentary filmmaker. Eley has been a member since 2010 and President of the British Society of Cinematographers since 2017 .

life and work

Mike Eley started his career as a cameraman in documentaries for the BBC , Channel 4 and ITV . In 2000, Ken Loach engaged him with Barry Ackroyd for his feature film The Navigators . In 2002 he directed the documentary Sturz ins Leere , directed by Kevin Macdonald , which won the BIFA Award (BIFA Award for Best British Independent Film) For Best Technical Achievement . Eley was responsible for the cinematography in several films and series that Susanna White shot for the BBC. He received an Emmy nomination each for Jane Eyre , Parade's End and A Magical Nanny , all directed by Susanna White .
