Naomi Ackie

Naomi Sarah Ackie (* 1992 in London-Camden ) is a British actress .

Life

Naomi Ackie began studying acting at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama (RCSSD) in London in 2009 , and graduated from the Collaborative and Devised Theater Course (CDT) there with a BA (Hons) in 2012 . She has appeared on stage at the National Theater , the Theater Center , the Soho Theater , the Theater Delicatessen and the Derby Theater, among others .

In 2015 she had an episode role in the episode Das Schattenquartier (Face the Raven) of the television series Doctor Who . Your movie debut was in 2016 in the costume drama Lady Macbeth directed by William Oldroyd alongside Florence Pugh . For her portrayal of the maid Anna, Naomi Ackie was nominated for Best Supporting Actress at the British Independent Film Awards 2017 and was named Best Newcomer. In 2016 she also appeared in the BBC television movie Damilola, Our Loved Boy and in the Sky miniseries The Five . She had other series roles in the Hulu / Channel 4 series The Bisexual and the ITV series Vera - A Very Special Case and Cleaning Up .

In the crime film Yardie (2018) by Idris Elba , she played the role of Mona. In Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker from JJ Abrams , the ninth episode of the Star Wars film series, she took on the role of Jannah. In The Corrupted (2019) by director Ron Scalpello, she was seen alongside Sam Claflin . In 2019 it was also announced that she would be part of the cast of a prequel for Game of Thrones alongside Naomi Watts .

In the second season of the series The End of the F *** ing World , she took on the role of the outsider Bonnie. For her portrayal, she was named Best Supporting Actress at the British Academy Television Award 2020.
