Kate Dickie
Kate Dickie (* 1971 in East Kilbride , Scotland ) is a Scottish actress .
Life
Kate Dickie was born in East Kilbride but grew up in different parts of Scotland as she moved around a lot with her family. She comes from a middle class working class family: her father was a farmer and gardener.
Career
She discovered her interest in acting early on . After graduation, she attended college in Kirkcaldy , where she studied drama . In 1990 she got a place at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama and decided to go to Glasgow . There she began working in the theater and was also lucky enough to be a member of one of Scotland's best drama groups. His breakthrough came in 2000 with a role in the Scottish BBC series Tinsel Town .
2006 Kate Dickie starred in the movie Red Road on the side of Tony Curran as the female lead role of Jackie , who is perhaps best known for their. For this role she received good reviews, among other things, her performance was also highlighted by the film director Shane Meadows . In 2010 she appeared in the multi-part history series The Pillars of the Earth , based on the book by Ken Follett . Kate Dickie has received numerous awards for her achievements; she won five awards, including a Scottish British Academy Film Award . She plays alongside James Nesbitt , Niall Bruton, Hanna Stanbridge and Ciaran McNenamin in the Irish thriller Outcast , by Colm McCarthy .
Private life
Dickie is married and has had a daughter since 2004. The family lives in the Kelvinbridge district of Glasgow .
