Susan Lynch

Susan Lynch (born June 5, 1971 in Corrinshego, Newry , Northern Ireland ) is a British actress .

Life and accomplishments

Susan Lynch's older brother, John Lynch , is also an actor. She made her debut in television films and series in the early 1990s , her first feature film was the family film The Secret of the Baby Seal (1994, D: John Sayles ). In the horror film Interview with a Vampire (1994) she played a minor role alongside Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt . In the television thriller Lügenspiele (1996) she took on one of the bigger roles alongside John Hannah .

For the role of Maggie O'Toole in the comedy Long Live Ned Devine! (1998) Lynch was nominated for the Screen Actors Guild Award in 1999. For the title role in the film Nora (2000) she won the IFTA Award in 2000 and a prize at the Cherbourg-Octeville Festival of Irish & British Film . In the thriller Beautiful Creatures (2000) she played one of the leading roles alongside Rachel Weisz , for which she was nominated for the British Independent Film Award in 2001. In the horror film From Hell (2001), she appeared alongside Johnny Depp .

For her lead role in the mini-television series Any Time Now (2002), Lynch won the IFTA Award in 2003 . She won the British Independent Film Award and the IFTA Award for the role of Mary in the drama Sixteen Years of Alcohol (2003) . For their portrayal of Dr. Maria Orton in the television series Bodies , she was nominated for the IFTA Award in 2004. In 2004 she appeared in the play The Night Season at London's National Theater and the film Liebeswahn - Enduring Love was released.
