Marie Claire
Marie Claire is a French women's fashion magazine . It is published in France and in English in the USA , Great Britain and Australia . Marie Claire is also published in Brazil , Japan , Malaysia , the Netherlands , Russia , South Africa , South Korea , Taiwan , Turkey and Hungary . From 1990 to 2003, Gruner + Jahr published a German edition.
The first edition was published by Jean Prouvost in 1937 and was later published weekly. In 1942 the publication was stopped at the instigation of the German occupiers. The magazine did not appear again until 1954, now monthly. In 1976 the company was taken over by Prouvost's daughter Evelyne Prouvost . The first English edition appeared in the USA in 1994 .
Today the magazine belongs to the Hearst Corporation , based in New York . The main topics are fashion, beauty and health. The target group are women worldwide.
