ASAP Ferg (born October 20, 1988 in Harlem , New York ; real name Darold Ferguson junior ), also written A $ AP Ferg , is an American rapper and member of the hip-hop collective ASAP Mob .

life and career

ASAP Ferg's father Darold Ferguson Sr. owned a t-shirt company. At the beginning of his professional life he worked in the same industry as his father by being a founding member of the ASAP Mob as their fashion designer. Together with ASAP Rocky , he finally started rapping. Originally planned was a career as a duo, modeled on Mobb Deeps . ASAP Rocky, however, had more success as a solo artist after a series of mixtapes , whereupon ASAP Ferg also aimed for a solo career.

He had his first success as a solo artist in 2012 when his song Work was placed on ASAP Mobs Mixtape Lords Never Worry and was then listed as a single at number 100 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2013 . This earned him a record deal with RCA Records . This was followed by a remix of Work featuring Trinidad James , French Montana and Schoolboy Q and then the piece Persian Wine , both extracts from ASAP Ferg's debut album Trap Lord . The long player was able to position himself at number 9 on the Billboard 200 . In the following year he released another mixtape with Ferg Forever . The most famous song from it was Dope Walk .

In 2016 ASAP Ferg's second album, Always Strive and Prosper, was released . Led by the single New Level featuring Future , which reached number 90 on the US charts, it just surpassed the success of its debut and reached 8th position on the album sales list.
