Eric Warren Singer also Eric Singer (born August 1, 1968 in Los Angeles , California ) is an American screenwriter who became internationally known for the films The International and American Hustle .

life and career

Eric Warren Singer, born in Los Angeles in 1968, returned to his hometown after graduating from Boston University to pursue a career in Hollywood . Since the mid-1990s, Singer has worked in various roles in the film business. He started writing the cartoon series Æon Flux in 1995 , where he wrote the script for the episode The Purge . In 2009 he wrote the screenplay for the political thriller and banking crime thriller The International for German director Tom Tykwer . Clive Owen , Naomi Watts and Armin Mueller-Stahl played the leading roles . Eric Warren Singer took on a small guest role as a cashier in the film. In 2014, together with director David O. Russell , he was honored with the AACTA International Award as well as an Oscar , a Golden Globe and a BAFTA nomination in the category Best Original Screenplay for the crime drama American Hustle . In addition, Singer was also involved in the role of Executive Producer for the film .
