Hiroshi Yoshizawa ( Japanese 吉 沢 広 司 , Yoshizawa Hiroshi ; * May 5, 1931 , † April 7, 2013 ) was a Japanese skier who was active in ski jumping and Nordic combined .

Career

Yoshizawa started at the age of 20 at the Olympic Winter Games in Oslo in 1952 for his first international tournament as a special jumper. He landed on the normal hill, tied with French André Monnier, in 36th place.

At the Nordic World Ski Championships in Falun in 1954 , he reached 46th place in the individual jumping from the normal hill after jumps on 70 and 72.5 meters.

Two years later, Yoshizawa started at the 1956 Winter Olympics in Cortina d'Ampezzo . For the first time he competed in two Nordic disciplines. After he reached 13th place in the individual jumping on the normal hill, he started promisingly in the individual competition of the Nordic combined. After jumping he was in a good fifth place and still had a medal chance. However, he had to give up during the subsequent 18 km cross-country skiing and could not finish the race.

Yoshizawa won a total of four titles at Japanese Championships.
