Alec Sokolov

Alec Sokolow (born 1963 in New York City ) is an American screenwriter .

Life

Sokolow began his television career in 1987, writing for the short-lived news parody The Wilton North Report . From 1989 to 1990 he was involved in the script for 25 episodes of the Arsenio Hall Show . From 1995 he worked with screenwriter Joel Cohen , until 2008 they made ten joint films; including Money Talks - Money Doesn't Stink and Garfield - The Movie . Sokolow is active both as an author of original scripts and in adapting the scripts, for example in the remake of Cheaper By The Dozen . He celebrated his greatest success in 1996 when he for The Walt Disney Company - animated film Toy Story in the category Best Original Screenplay was nominated for an Oscar. The screenplay was also nominated for the Saturn Award and the Hugo Award . Sokolow won the Annie Award alone for his script, which he wrote with Cohen, among others.
