Carlos Cuarón
Carlos José Cuarón Orozco (born October 2, 1966 in Mexico City , Mexico ) is a Mexican director , screenwriter and producer .
Life
Cuarón is the brother of Alfonso Cuarón and the uncle of his children Jonás Cuarón , Tess Bu Cuarón and Olmo Teodoro Cuarón , who have already established themselves in the film business.
Cuarón studied English Literature at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). He then began to work as a screenwriter on some short films, such as in 1991 for Sólo con tu pareja , which his brother directed, and for this he won an Ariel Award for the best original screenplay in the same year .
Together with his brother he wrote the screenplay for Y Tu Mamá También - Lust for Life (2001), in which the actors Gael García Bernal , Diego Luna and Maribel Verdú participated, among others . The first two played in other films by the two brothers, including the directorial debut of Carlos. For Y Tu Mamá También - Lust for Life , both have been nominated for numerous film awards, including the BAFTA Award and the Academy Award .
