Bernard C. Schoenfeld
Bernard C. Schoenfeld (born August 17, 1907 in Brooklyn , New York City , New York , † April 25, 1990 in Guadalajara , Mexico ) was an American screenwriter who was nominated for an Oscar for best original screenplay .
Life
Schoenfeld initially wrote the templates for stage works on Broadway, for example together with Noel Pierce Shooting Star (1937) or the comedy Hitch Your Wagon (1937).
He began his career as a screenwriter in the Hollywood film industry in 1944 for the film noir Witness wanted (Phantom Lady) directed by Robert Siodmak , in which Franchot Tone , Ella Raines and Alan Curtis played the leading roles. In 1975 he wrote the scripts and templates for 33 films and television series .
At the Academy Awards in 1951 , he was nominated with Virginia Kellogg for the Oscar for Best Original Screenplay for the John Cromwell- directed drama Women's Prison (Caged, 1950) with Eleanor Parker , Agnes Moorehead and Hope Emerson .
