The Accounting Review ( ACCR ) is the official journal of the American Accounting Association and accordingly focuses on accounting . The Accounting Review is published six times a year by the American Accounting Association.

The Accounting Review was founded in 1926. Issues from 2000 onwards are available digitally.

Content

According to its self-image, the Accounting Review intends to be the most important journal for the publication of articles on the results of research on accounting and the research methodologies used for it. The breadth of articles accepted by the journal can include any research methodology and any accounting-related topic, as long as the articles submitted meet the journal's publishing standards.

In the economics publication ranking of the Tinbergen Institute at the University of Amsterdam , the Accounting Review is listed in category A (“very good general economics journals and top journals in the respective subject”). The Accounting Review is also one of 45 journals used by the Financial Times for its business school research ranking. According to the Journal Citation Reports , the 2012 Accounting Review had an Impact Factor of 2.319, the sixth highest of the 89 accounting journals.
