Jonathan Herman

Jonathan Herman is an American screenwriter .

Life

Herman grew up in Greenwich , Connecticut and graduated from Tufts University in the mid-1990s . Years later he moved to Los Angeles . Here he worked as an assistant until he decided to work as a screenwriter. He was later able to sell two of his scripts without actually realizing them. His first mention as a screenwriter was in connection with the film Straight Outta Compton (2015). Here he was called in to revise the material that was available shortly before the start of production. Herman is currently associated with the planned real-life adaptation of the anime Ghost in the Shell .

Along with the rest of the people involved in the development of the Straight Outta Compton script , Herman was nominated for an Oscar in 2016 for Best Original Screenplay. Together with Andrea Berloff , he was recognized at the Black Film Critics Circle Awards and they received a nomination for the Satellite Awards 2015 .
