Andrea Berloff

Andrea Berloff (* in Framingham , Massachusetts ) is an American screenwriter and director.

Life

Berloff graduated from Cornell University in the mid-1990s. Before her first mention as a screenwriter for the film World Trade Center (2006), she wrote two biographical screenplays - one about Amelia Earhart , another about Bing Crosby and Caresse Crosby - both of which have not yet been realized.

In 2010 she was hired to develop a script for the film Straight Outta Compton, which was finally released in 2015 . In the course of her research, Berloff wrote a manuscript of around 1000 pages. Shortly before production started, Jonathan Herman joined in, who had the task of revising the script. Together with the rest of the people involved in the development of Straight Outta Compton's script , the two were nominated for an Oscar in the category Best Original Screenplay in 2016 . Berloff and Herman also received awards at the Black Film Critics Circle Awards and were nominated for the 2015 Satellite Awards .

Since 2013, Berloff has been associated with developing a script for the film Legend Of Conan , starring Arnold Schwarzenegger .

In 2019 she made her directorial debut with The Kitchen - Queens of Crime . She wrote the script based on a comic mini-series.
