José dos Santos Lopes , also called Zeca Lopes (born November 1, 1910 in Batatais , SP ; † August 28, 1996 there ) was a Brazilian football player .

Career

society

Zeca Lopes started his career in 1928 with Batatais FC from the city of the same name in the São Paulo region . In 1932 he went to the Corinthians São Paulo , to which he remained loyal until the end of his career. He is said to have scored 36 goals in 144 games.

National team

He was the first Corinthians player to be called up for the national team. Zeca Lopes first played at the 1938 World Cup . Here he played three games. Four more appearances followed at the Copa Roca in 1940.
