WD Richter (born December 7, 1945 in New Britain , Connecticut ) is an American screenwriter and director .
life and work
Richter has worked as a screenwriter since the 1970s.
He and Arthur A. Ross were nominated for an Oscar in 1980 for the screenplay of the feature film Brubaker .
He became known as a director through the 1984 twisted cult film Buckaroo Banzai - The eighth dimension (original English title The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension ). In 1991 he directed a second film with A timeless love .
