Massimo Franciosa
Massimo Franciosa (born July 23, 1924 in Rome , † March 31, 1998 ibid) was an Italian screenwriter and film director .
Life
Franciosa began his professional activity as a journalist and essayist and tried his hand at a script for the first time in 1949. From 1955 he wrote almost exclusively for the film; among his contributions are numerous artistic and financial successes. A longstanding professional partnership existed with Pasquale Festa Campanile , with whom he co-directed two films before directing a few more alone. Since their success was only moderate, he turned back in 1972 exclusively to the authorship of numerous scripts. Franciosa's preferred genres were sentimental comedy and comic films from the Neapolitan milieu.
Franciosa was nominated for an Oscar in 1964 for Le quattro giornate di Napoli ; In 1958 he won the Cannes Award for Best Screenplay. In 1956 and 1963 he was awarded the Nastro d'Argento .
