Emin Murat Bilgel

Emin Murat Bilgel (* 1952 in Istanbul ) is a Turkish admiral . Since August 2011 he has been the commander of the Turkish Navy .

Life

He graduated from the Naval Academy in 1970 and trained as an officer over the next two years. He then served on various ships until 1978. Bilgel then received further training at the College of the Navy. In 1997 he became a rear admiral appointed in 2005 to Vice Admiral and finally in August 2009 for Admiral promoted. Admiral Bilgel was given supreme command of the Navy on August 30, 2011, succeeding Admiral Eşref Uğur Yiğit .
