Recep Bülent Bostanoğlu (* 1953 in Karadeniz Ereğli , Zonguldak Province ) is a Turkish admiral who has been Commander in Chief of the Navy (Türk Deniz Kuvetleri) since 2013 .

Life

Naval officer and staff officer

Bostanoğlu entered after school in 1970 in the sea cadet institute (Deniz Lisesi) and then in 1973 in the naval school (Deniz Harp Okulu) , which he graduated in 1975 as a lieutenant at sea (Teğmen) . Between 1975 and 1980 he was used as an officer on the TCG Tinaztepe (D-355) , on the destroyer escort TCG Berk (D-358) and on the destroyer TCG Adatepe D-353 , before becoming an operations officer and commander of the TCG Sultanhisar ( P-111) was.

Promotion to admiral

Bostanoğlu, who was awarded the Armed Forces Medal of Honor (Türk Silahlı Kuvetleri Şeref Madalyası) , the Armed Forces Medal for Outstanding Services (Türk Silahlı Kuvvetleri Üstün Hizmet Madalyası) and the NATO Medal , is married and has two children.
