Vural Bayazıt

Vural Bayazıt (* 1934 in Afyonkarahisar ; † February 1, 2020 in İstanbul ) was a Turkish admiral who was last from 1992 to 1995 Commander in Chief of the Navy ( Türk Deniz Kuvetleri ) .

Life

After attending school, Bayazıt graduated from the Naval School ( Deniz Harp Okulu ), which he graduated in 1953. He was then used as an officer on various warships and naval units before he attended the Naval Academy ( Deniz Harp Akademisi ), which he graduated in 1964. After he was first officer and commander of a destroyer , he served as a naval attaché at the embassy in Egypt between 1968 and 1970 . In 1971 he became commodore of the destroyer associations in the naval high command and then chief of the staff of the warship associations.

In 1976 his promotion to Rear Admiral and appointed commander of the Regional Command Mediterranean ( Akdeniz Bölge Komutanlığı ) and subsequently as head of the personnel department of the High Command of the Navy before he deputy head of the planning department in the command of the Allied Naval Forces Southern Europe (NAVSOUTH) of NATO in Nisida was .

After his promotion to rear admiral on August 30, 1980 Bayazıt was commander of the miners' associations ( Mayın Filosu Komutanlığ ) and was then commander of the Gölcük naval base . After he was then head of the operations department in the High Command of the Navy, he became commander of the Naval Training Command. On August 30, 1984 he was promoted to Vice Admiral .
