Raphael Hayes
Raphael Hayes (born March 2, 1915 in New York City , † August 14, 2010 in Arlington County , Virginia ) was an American screenwriter.
Life
Hayes joined the army after leaving school and then worked for the radio in New York in the 1940s. He turned to screenwriting at the end of the decade and was primarily involved in various television series until the late 1960s. He only wrote scripts for feature films occasionally.
In 1965 he and his colleague Orville H. Hampton were nominated for an Oscar in the category Best Original Screenplay for the screenplay for Ruf nicht zu Laut. They were also nominated for the Writers Guild of America Award .
His brother Alfred Hayes (1911–1985) worked as a writer and screenwriter.
