Orville H. Hampton
Orville H. Hampton (born May 21, 1917 in Rockford , Illinois , † August 8, 1997 in Los Angeles , California ) was an American screenwriter .
Life
Orville H. Hampton studied chemistry and journalism at the University of Illinois , then worked as a radio announcer and served in the US Army during World War II . From 1950 he appeared as a screenwriter. Up to and including 1983 he was involved in more than 100 productions.
Until the early 1960s, his focus was on cinema productions, after which he was involved in various television productions, especially series. One director he worked with on several films was Edward L. Cahn .
In 1965 he and his colleague Raphael Hayes were nominated for the Oscar in the category Best Original Screenplay for the screenplay for Ruf not too loud .
