James Bridges

James Bridges (born February 3, 1936 in Paris , Arkansas , † June 6, 1993 in Los Angeles ) was an American director , screenwriter and film producer .

Life

He began his acting career in the 1950s. In the early 1960s he was a screenwriter for various television series, including those presented for Alfred Hitchcock . In 1966 he won an Edgar Allan Poe Award for the episode An Unlocked Window . In 1970 he made his first movie at $ 100 more when it's a boy ( The Baby Maker ), his greatest success was in 1979 The China Syndrome with Jane Fonda , Jack Lemmon and Michael Douglas .
