Sidney J. Furie

Sidney J. Furie (born February 28, 1933 in Toronto , Ontario ) is a Canadian film director and film producer .

Life

His best-known films are Superman IV - The World on the Edge and the film series The Steel Eagle . His first feature film was A Dangerous Age from 1957, previously he worked on a Canadian series called Hudson's Bay . In 1960, Furie went to England, where he had some critically acclaimed successes like Hello Mr. Twen! ( The Young Ones ). He shot with Frank Sinatra and Michael Caine . After about a decade back in the United States, he turned and turned. a. with Lady Sings the Blues a Filmobiographie about Billie Holiday . Action films followed, with the Steel Eagle series becoming a prominent feature, parts of which were all responsibility of Furie. The 1987 Superman IV - The World on the Abyss was an artistic and financial failure . In the 1990s and 2000s, Furie shot with B and C stars like Casper Van Dien and Dolph Lundgren , and he was occasionally involved in television series. He last appeared in 2018. His work includes more than 50 productions.
