action

With a heated argument on campus, Sonia breaks up with her unfaithful boyfriend Bo. Jim Travis, who is studying at the same university, assists her in the fights and is easily injured himself. He offers the helpless Sonia to drive her home in his boss's limousine . With a mixture of bragging rights and awkward jokes, he tries to impress her and get her on an evening date .

Soon Travis accidentally cuts a black pick-up truck with tinted windows while changing lanes , whereupon the driver begins to pester her. After a mass accident caused by this, they seek refuge at a police station, where they are initially held to be the cause of the accidents.

After Sonia and Jim have made their statements, they are let go. It is now dark and they think they are safe, but soon the mysterious pursuer will reappear. After it seems as if they could have taken a forest path to safety, the limousine runs out of fuel. They find refuge in an abandoned hut and even briefly believe they can get a vehicle found there afloat again when they are suddenly startled by the truck ramming the hut.

Sonia and Jim escape on foot into the forest, from where they can see that the chasing group consists of three arguing men: at the wheel is their ex-boyfriend Bo. His two companions are in the vehicle: the hot Zack, who incites Bo in his thirst for revenge, and the fearful Larry, who reluctantly made his souped-up truck, a Dodge Ram , available for Bo's act of revenge.

When it gets light, Sonia and Jim reach a forest path where they can stop a Forest Services SUV . The driver initially wants to arrest her at gunpoint, but is hit by the truck that appears again. Bo pockets her weapon and starts chasing the couple fleeing in the SUV across the forest.

When even a daring descent at full speed down a steep slope is unable to shake off the pursuers, the journey finally ends on a busy main road. Bo tries to push the car with Jim and Sonia off the road and shoots them. In the abundant oncoming traffic, individual vehicles keep coming off the road.

Sonia tries one last time to confront Bo. When this does not react, she throws a burning flare into the truck, whereupon both vehicles come to a stop with screeching tires. Jim manages to be the first to start his car again and push the truck towards the edge of a cliff. Bo climbs over the bonnet through the shattered window into the interior of the SUV, where Jim manages to overpower him.

Bo and Zack fall into the depths with the two vehicles. Jim is able to pull Sonia, who has just barely rescued herself from the SUV, to him on the edge of the cliff.
