action

When the lead singer of a rock band suddenly disappears without a trace at the height of their success, the position is filled with bassist Natalie.

Natalie brings a breath of fresh air to the band and they decide to develop new songs and a new sound. For this purpose the band would like to rent a secluded villa in the country. This is rented by the couple Lord and Lady Foxley, who want to solve their financial misery. Since the employed staff does not show up for duty when the new tenants arrive, the Foxleys decide to appear as butler and cook and do the work themselves.

As a result of living together, some conflicts soon arise between the different cultures and generations, but both parties develop more and more respect for one another.

Meanwhile, the band's record company tries to get them to sign a contract that allows the record company to take creative control of the band, which they can prevent. At the end of the film, the original band leader reappears and admits that his disappearance was a planned publicity gag. But the band decides to keep Natalie as the front woman.

reception

The lexicon of international films thinks Global Heresy is a "splendidly cast comedy that only calls up its great entertainment potential in a few scenes".
