action

Jerry Webster and Carol Templeton are rival advertising professionals. Jerry is quite unscrupulous about his business in order to secure new customers, while Carol lures her clients with charm and expertise. With his behavior, he constantly punishes his constantly quoted code of ethics Nobilitas et Veritas in Eternitas, super omnia (Latin: excellence and truth in eternity above everything ).

After Templeton then reports Webster to the advertising association, this sends a show girl to seduce its members. When he promised him a role in a commercial for an imaginary product called VIP and also made such a commercial, this commercial was accidentally broadcast.

Jerry now has to find some product to avoid further problems, so he orders the product from the chemist Linus Tyler. During her research, Carol Templeton ends up in the chemist's laboratory, which is also where Jerry Webster is at the same time. On the spur of the moment, Webster pretends to be a chemist and inventor of VIP.

In the days that followed, Carol Templeton of the Websters advertising agency tried to break the VIP advertising contract by ensnaring the supposed chemist. Webster can be put up with by her in the role of chemist, with wine, dinner, golf, and beach visits. Webster also takes advantage of Carol's ignorance to get her advertising slogans, which she delivers to him free of charge.

In the meantime, the real chemist invents the product: a piece of candy that, when it arrives in the bloodstream, triggers a strong alcohol intoxication. Due to the tasting and its consequences, Webster and Templeton spend a night together that is not without consequences, even in two senses.

Webster and Templeton wake up together in a hotel room in Maryland - they both share pajamas and are married to each other.

The next day, pretty much all lies, and Carol Templeton has the marriage annulled. Only nine months later does she agree to the marriage - on the couch, pregnant and on the way to the delivery room  .

Reviews

"Rock Hudson and Doris Day in a romantic comedy that tries to repeat the success of Bettgeflüster as faithfully as possible in the world of advertising agencies [...] Starkino with an experienced wit."

"[...] lively sex comedy full of puns and situation comedy ; Worth seeing alone Doris Days constantly surprised, angry, piqued facial expressions. (Rating: 2 out of 4 possible stars - average) "
