The gibb vocational school in Bern is the largest vocational school in Switzerland . It offers both basic vocational training and the vocational baccalaureate . In addition, various advanced training courses are offered u. a. also higher technical schools (HF).
Over 1000 full and part-time employees work at the GIBB; over 8000 students of all professions are taught.

The GIBB consists of the following departments:
- AVK: Department for basic education with certificate, pre-apprenticeships, courses
- BAU: Construction Professions Department
- BMS: vocational school
- GDL: Department for commercial, service and laboratory professions
- IET: Department of Information and Electrical Engineering
- MTB: Department for mechanical-technical professions

The school has seven buildings in Bern, which are distributed throughout the city.
The main building of the GIBB at Lorrainestrasse 1, built from 1937 to 1939, is under cultural property protection , KGS-Nr. 623.
Media reports about the GIBB
In an article from November 18, 2015, the Swiss commuter newspaper 20 Minuten wrote that the Google ratings for the GIBB vocational school skyrocketed (from 1.2 to 3.8 out of five possible stars). Most of the description that users used to rate the GIBB on Google was in Russian. David Schäfer, social media expert and managing director at Somexcloud, is critical of the comments. Daniel Hurter, the deputy director, distances himself from the allegation that the Google reviews have been bought.
In a report from January 27, 2017, the Swiss commuter newspaper 20 Minuten wrote that it was too cold in the GIBB. Concentrated work is therefore not possible.
On June 14, 2018, 20 Minuten wrote another article about the GIBB. A teacher read from the Koran , fully veiled . Learners made a video of this, which can now be seen for 20 minutes.
