Paul Henning

Paul Henning (born September 16, 1911 in Independence, Missouri , † March 25, 2005 in Burbank , California ) was an American screenwriter and television producer.

Life

Henning was born on a farm in Missouri and grew up in Independence . He graduated from the Kansas City School of Law but began writing for the radio in the 1930s. In the early 1950s, he turned to screenwriting for television. He developed and produced a. a. the The Bob Cummings Show. His greatest success was the series The Beverly Hillbillies , which ran from 1962 to the early 1970s. He was also involved in the development and production of the equally successful Petticoat Junction and Green Acres series. His work includes only two successful seducers, A Pajama for Two and Two , on which he worked with Stanley Shapiro . In 1988, the remake Two Adorably Corrupted Villains was released, based on her script for Two Adorably Depraved Villains .

In 1962 he and Stanley Shapiro were nominated for an Oscar in the category Best Original Screenplay for the screenplay of One Pajama for Two . In 1956 , 1959 and 1963 he was nominated for an Emmy . In 1996 the Writers Guild of America awarded him the Laurel Award for TV Writing Achievement .

Henning was married and the father of two daughters.
