Keir Pearson

Keir John Pearson (born December 15, 1966 in San Francisco , California ) is an American screenwriter and former rower .

Life

Pearson studied at the Tisch School of the Arts and participated in the 1992 Summer Olympics as a member of the American rowing team. In 1997 he finished his studies at New York University . He received his bachelor's degree from Harvard University in 1990 . At the beginning of the 2000s he was involved in documentaries as an editor.

Together with Terry George , he developed the script for the film Hotel Rwanda , which is set against the backdrop of the genocide in Rwanda . For this purpose, the two were in 2005 u. a. Nominated for an Oscar in the Best Original Screenplay category. Pearson did extensive on-site research for the film's basic story in the late 1990s and attempted to sell the material in Hollywood in 2001, where he eventually came across Terry George, who also directed the material.

He was involved as a screenwriter on the film Cesar Chavez (2014).
