Terry George
Terry George (born December 20, 1952 in Belfast ) is a Northern Irish director and screenwriter .
Life
Terry George has been married since 1978 and has two children. He has been a screenwriter since the late 1980s, and has also worked as a film and television director since 1996.
In 1996 he won the European Film Prize for his film Mothers & Sons . In 2012 he won an Oscar for The Shore with his daughter Oorlagh George , who acted as producer . He was previously nominated for an Oscar for the screenplay of Hotel Rwanda in 2005 together with Keir Pearson . In 1994 he was nominated for this award for the first time, then together with Jim Sheridan .
