Daniel Boulanger

Daniel Boulanger (born January 24, 1922 in Compiègne , † October 27, 2014 in Senlis ) was a French screenwriter , actor and writer .

Life

Daniel Boulanger was a member of the literary organization Académie Goncourt from 1983 to 2008 . He began his career in the film business as a screenwriter in the 1960s. After that he was involved in over 40 films and sometimes appeared in smaller roles as an actor. His most famous appearance was that of the tenor and neighbors of Claude Jade and Jean-Pierre Léaud in François Truffaut's table and bed .

For the script for the film Adventure in Rio , Boulanger was nominated for an Oscar in the category Best Original Screenplay in 1965 together with Jean-Paul Rappeneau , Ariane Mnouchkine and Philippe de Broca .

  1. As a tenor, he keeps throwing his belated wife's coat and handbag down the stairs. When Antoine (Léaud) and Christine (Jade) copy this behavior in the epilogue at the end of the film, he helps Claude Jade into her coat. Then the tenor's wife: "Do you see Cheri? Now they really love each other."
