Police Python 357 is a Franco-German thriller directed by Alain Corneau with Yves Montand in the leading role from 1976 .

Commissioner Marc Ferrot meets the photographer Sylvia Leopardi. An affair develops between the two. After a while, Leopardi is found murdered. Ferrot is tasked with solving the case. The police assume that Leopardi's lover is also her killer. Ferrot tries to keep the love affair between him and Leopardi a secret and to find the real killer.
