Marie-Josèphe Yoyotte

Marie-Josèphe Yoyotte (born November 5, 1929 in Saint-Fons ; † July 17, 2017 ) was a French film editor .

Life

Yoyotte did not learn her editing trade at a film school, but through internships and assistant positions with film editors. As early as 1957 she made her first independent film editing with À la Jamaïque . Until her last work on Le deuxième souffle in 2007, she could look back on a career spanning over 50 years. In between, she edited films such as Police Python 357 , Mikrokosmos - The People of the Grasses and Nomads of the Skies - The Secret of the Migratory Birds , for each of which she received a César for the best cut . She received a nomination for each of the films The Beautiful Wild and The Seventh String . During her career she worked with Claude Pinoteau for several years and edited films for him such as La Boum - The Fete , La Boum 2 - The Fete Goes On and The Student .
