Stefania Sandrelli (born June 5, 1946 in Viareggio , Province of Lucca ) is an Italian actress.

At the age of 15, Sandrelli won a beauty contest, which immediately gave her her first film role in Mario Sequis Gioventù di notte (1961). In the same year she starred alongside Ugo Tognazzi in Luciano Salce's fascism personage Il federale and as a young seductress in the comedy Divorce in Italian from Pietro Germi . She appeared in several of Germi's films, including in a double role alongside Dustin Hoffman in Alfredo, Alfredo , the director's last film. She worked under Bernardo Bertolucci in Partner (1968) and Novecento (1976). Ettore Scola cast it alongside Nino Manfredi and Vittorio Gassman in C'eravamo tanto amati (1974), a story of the Italian left .

Her career hit rock bottom in the early 1980s. In 1983, she starred in Tinto Brass ' erotic comedy La Chiave, the success of which brought her film work back to life. Her outstanding achievements in the 1980s include her portrayals in Ettore Scola's Die Familie (1987) and in Roberto Benigni's comedy Il piccolo diavolo (1989), in which she played the lover of a priest played by Walter Matthau .

Most of her films were international, often Italian-French co-productions.

Her daughter Amanda Sandrelli is also an actress.
