Bruce Joel Rubin

Bruce Joel Rubin (born March 10, 1943 in Detroit , Michigan ) is an American screenwriter , film producer and film director .

Filmmaking

Rubin is considered the author of sensitive feature films as well as fast-paced action films.

So he wrote the screenplay for Ghost - Message from Sam , for which he received an Oscar in the category Best Original Screenplay at the 1991 Academy Awards .

My life for you from 1993 has been Rubin's only directorial work so far. Hewrote and producedthe film with Michael Keaton in the lead role.

More recently, Deep Impact and Stuart Little 2 have been Rubin's better-known films.

Rubin tries to live his private life very consciously. He spent almost 1½ years in Tibet and India in the seclusion of a local monastery.

He is married to Blanche Mallins.
