Charles McKeown

Charles McKeown (born 1946 in Dudley , Worcestershire ) is a British screenwriter and actor.

Life

McKeown first appeared as an actor from the early 1970s. As a screenwriter first worked for the series Pinkerton's Progress . In 1985 he wrote the screenplay for Brazil , for which he was nominated for an Oscar in the category Best Original Screenplay in 1986 together with Terry Gilliam and Tom Stoppard . It also won the Los Angeles Film Critics Association Award for Best Screenplay . Another joint collaboration with Terry Gilliam followed in 1988 with the script for Die Abenteuer des Baron Münchhausen . The third cooperation took place with The Cabinet of Doctor Parnassus (2009).
