Jean-Louis Richard

Jean-Louis Richard (born May 17, 1927 in Paris , † June 3, 2012 in Paris) was a French actor , film director and screenwriter .

Life

Richard studied performing arts at the Conservatoire national supérieur d'art dramatique (CNSAD) in Paris, which is considered the oldest and most important drama school in France. He began his work in the film business in the early 1960s, initially as an actor in small roles. Up to and including 2003 it was seen in more than 60 productions.

In 1961 he made his debut as a director and screenwriter with the detective film Good Luck Eddie . In 1964 he directed the spy film Mata Hari, Agent H. 21 , for which he also wrote the script. Richard made his third film in 1969. His fourth and last film as a director was made in 1985 with Unleashed Lust . As a screenwriter he was involved in 14 productions; he last appeared as such in 1997 at The Morning After . He worked several times with the director François Truffaut .

Richard was married to Jeanne Moreau from 1949 to 1951 . From this marriage comes their son Jérome, who is now a successful painter.
