Louis' uncanny encounter with the aliens

Never Play Clever Again is a French comedy film from the year 1982 . Louis de Funès can be seen in his last role before his death. The film is the last of the six-part series of films about the gendarme of St. Tropez .

action

The gendarmes of Saint-Tropez and their wives have moved into new offices. This is equipped with the latest technology, and Jérôme Gerber proudly presents his colleagues with a computer . The Colonel makes sure that everyone has survived the move safely and announces another innovation: four female apprentices will soon be coming to the station to learn about the practical aspects of the police force. The four attractive young women Christine, Marianne, Isabelle and Yo cause delight among the gendarmes and annoyance among their wives. The collaboration with Beaupied, Tricard, Berlicot and Perlin often goes wrong, and this leads to some chaotic situations on the streets of St. Tropez. The women spend the night in the monastery with Sister Clotilde. Cruchot wants to convince himself of the proper night's sleep for the ladies and surprises a gendarme who disappears in the monastery and in the end turns out to be his superior, Gerber. So that Cruchot does not betray him, he is allowed to have Gerber address him as a "general" for a while and is given a morning poem.

One day Isabelle receives a letter asking her to meet on the beach. Here she is knocked down and kidnapped. When Marianne also disappears shortly afterwards and a letter of confession appears signed The Brain , Cruchot and Gerber despair. In front of the Colonel they can compensate for the two missing politicians, but learn that Yo in particular needs special treatment: She is the daughter of the President of Bungawa, whose country supplies France with oil and who is about to come to France on a state visit. Despite strong security, Christine and Yo are also kidnapped. Now the Colonel also learns about the loss of the four women. As a punishment, the gendarmes on duty now have to switch to the oil-friendly bicycle.

The group around The Brain is after the bracelets of the police officers, but Yo has lost theirs on land. Without further ado, the gangsters kidnap Gerber's wife Germaine. Only Cruchot's "little doe-eye" Josépha remains in the office, but Cruchot does not want to endanger her and secretly disguises himself as a woman. Cruchot is also kidnapped and taken to the ship on which the five women are already being held. The gang now has all four bracelets together that contain a number code. Entered into a computer, this gives the location of the nuclear XZ missiles. Cruchot is taken to the gendarmerie to give the gang access to the computer. After the action, the five women are to be released, which turns out to be a lie: In fact, the women and Cruchot know too much and are to be killed. Yo manages to call for help over a radio. Without knowing it, she radioed Sister Clotilde, who immediately went to the gendarmerie and alerted Gerber and his men. They make their way to the ship. Here the women are given one last wish before they die. Everyone wishes to be with a man when they die. The wish of the four young women is granted, while Cruchot and Germaine are left alone and assure themselves of their affection in this situation. The four policemen in turn overwhelm their guards and finally present the gang as prisoners to the arriving gendarmes and tanners. The police are given a great reception, but Cruchot and Gerber's joy is subdued: the minister explains to both that the state set the trap with the armbands and then watched Gerber and his men fight. Gerber is stunned that they were nothing more than puppets in this game.
