France Rumilly

France Rumilly (born May 1, 1939 in Boulogne-Billancourt ; born Marie-Françoise Rumilly ) is a French actress .

Live and act

After studying at the monastery L'Institut Saint-Vincent de Paul and attending an acting school, she was discovered by director Jack Pinoteau during a casting and received her first film role under his direction for the 1963 film Five Lucky People .

A little later she achieved cult status through her appearance as the mad sister Clotilde in the gendarme films alongside Louis de Funès and plays this role in five other films in the series. During this time she was also active in the theater.

In 1986 she completely withdrew from the film business. Also on the 20th anniversary of Louis de Funès' death in 2003, in contrast to many other actors from the films, she did not take part in any event organized for it on television. In the documentary Un jour, un destin - Louis de Funès, derrière le masque (first broadcast in France 2 on December 11, 2012), she reported on the collaboration with the French comedian in an appearance with Claude Gensac , who appeared in many films Wife played alongside Louis de Funès.
