Philippe Agostini

Philippe Agostini (born August 11, 1910 in Paris , † October 20, 2001 there ) was a French cameraman.

Life

Philippe Agostini graduated from the École Louis-Lumière film school and, after a few years as camera assistant and member of the camera crew, worked as head cameraman from the end of the 1930s. Agostini worked for the most renowned French directors of this era such as Claude Autant-Lara , Robert Bresson , Marcel Carné , Julien Duvivier , Sacha Guitry and Max Ophüls . From the late 1950s onwards he directed a number of films with religious content and had the greatest success with the sacrifice of a nun . Agostini was married to the actress Odette Joyeux .
