Odette Joyeux (born December 5, 1914 in Paris , † August 26, 2000 in Grimaud ) was a French actress and writer .

As a young girl, Odette Joyeux trained as a dancer at the famous Paris Opera, but then worked as a film actress and writer.

From 1935 to 1945 she was married to the well-known French actor Pierre Brasseur , with whom she had their son Claude , born in 1936 , who is also a recognized actor.

In 1958, Odette Joyeux married the cameraman and director Philippe Agostini for the second time .

Odette Joyeux published about a dozen books, but only a few of them were published in Germany. The autobiographical novel Côté Jardin (English title: Ballet Magic ), in which the author describes her own experiences from her time as a ballet student at the Paris Opera and provides an impressive look behind the scenes at the hard, often misunderstood world of classical ballet, received greater attention . In 1966, the book was made into a film by Philippe Agostini under the title L'âge heureux and broadcast as Die Verbotene Tür in four parts on German television. In the atmospheric film, Odette Joyeux herself played the mother of the child's leading actress Delphine Desyeux.
