Gérard Pirès

Gérard Pirès (born August 31, 1942 in Paris ) is a French director and screenwriter.

Pirès has been in the film business since the mid-1960s. The director became known to a wide audience through the 1998 box office hit Taxi , which was produced by Luc Besson . For this film he was nominated for a César in 1999. His work as a director includes 22 productions, most recently in 2007 in the short film Guo bao zong dong yuan .
