Riders ( Team Riders , Steal , $ teal ) is a Franco-British-Canadian action film directed by Gérard Pirès from 2002 .

action

Extreme athletes Slim, Alex, Frank and Otis rob banks. They plan and carry out a series of five robberies, after which they want to stop the robberies. In the second of these raids, they stole $ 20 million worth of securities owned by the Mafia. They break off the series, but are forced by an unknown man to conduct another robbery. Otherwise the identities of the group members should be handed over to the police.

Meanwhile, the mafia sends the group to the preacher Surtayne, who is supposed to get the securities back. Slim flirts with Karen, with whom he sleeps. He later learns that she is a police investigator. The group conducts another robbery together with Jerry, who was sent by the unknown client. Jerry kills the security guards, one of whom fatally injures Alex. The athletes escape by parachuting off a bridge while Jerry falls off the bridge without a parachute.

The athletes hand over the stolen money to their client and learn that he is the police lieutenant Macgruder - Karen's boss. They are found by Surtayne, who gives Slim ten thousand dollars and promises to hand over the securities a few days later. Macgruder calls for the next heist to be carried out. Otis sneaks into his office and steals the previously stolen money from a closet. The angry Macgruder has the bank, which is supposed to be robbed according to the plan, surrounded by the police. The athletes, however, rob a bank on the other end of town. They meet with Surtayne, who sits down on the mine hidden in the seat of the car, which would explode if he got up. The athletes escape through a flap in the floor of the vehicle, which is surrounded by the police during this time. Surtayne tries to get up, which is causing the explosion.

Slim indicates to Karen that Macgruder is an accomplice of the group, whereupon the latter is arrested. He sends the policewoman a ticket for a flight to Rio de Janeiro . She wants to arrest Slim before he takes off, but instead of him and his buddies, there are three young men on the plane who look very similar to Slim, Frank and Otis. The three of them leave the United States on a charter plane.
